Bred from Cactus Kate (obtained from Verne) and a selection from a landrace seed grown Makapakka (obtained from Juan Shuma). This Bolivian Torch cactus has all of the good qualities that make Cactus Kate so desirable, but better, and more rot resistant. The original plant selection was obtained from Medicactus. It has a unique chemical profile and we are finding some interesting molecules in the waxy exterior coating that may have applications as adjuvents for vaccines.
